🐾 Mochi Says: Yes, I’m Allowed in This Bodega

Listen — just because I have four paws doesn’t mean I don’t have places to be, vibes to give, and snacks to sniff. Welcome to my favorite city flex: being a bodega-friendly pup 🐶🛒

But before you and your floof stroll into your local deli like celebs, there are a few things we both need to know.

🏙️ Are Dogs Allowed in NYC Stores?

Technically, only service animals are guaranteed access to indoor establishments under the law.
BUT — many NYC bodegas, hardware stores, cafés, and boutiques do allow well-behaved pups at the owner’s discretion.

That means:

  • It’s a privilege, not a right 🚪
  • We gotta stay polite and respectful 🐾
  • No peeing on the snack aisle (that was one time, and I was a baby)

🐾 Mochi’s Guide to Being a Bodega Boss

1. Ask Before Entering

If there’s no “No Pets” sign, always ask politely before waltzing in. Bonus points if I look extra cute while you ask.

2. Stay Leashed & Close

I’m small, but I’ve got main character energy — which means I will knock over a Pringles stack if I get zoomies. Keep that leash short.

3. Don’t Touch the Food

I know the bacon egg and cheese smells like heaven, but I’m not allowed to hover.
(Side note: why is the cat allowed on the counter tho?)

4. Clean Paws = Clean Vibes

Wipe my paws if we just walked through something wild. Ain’t nobody want sidewalk funk on the linoleum.

5. Be Quick & Cute

Get in, get your oat milk, give me a treat if the cashier says I’m adorable, and bounce.

🐶 Final Woof

City life is all about community — and bodegas are a BIG part of that. Being a respectful pup means I get to keep showing my face (and my floof) wherever we go.

So next time we hit the corner store, just know: yes, I’m allowed here. And yes, I brought the vibes.

Street smart & snack ready,
Mochi 🐾
