City pups, listen up! It’s your girl Mochi, reporting live from the sidewalks of NYC — where the smells are mysterious, the pigeons are sassy, and the hydrants? Chef’s kiss.
Whether you’re new to the block or a seasoned stroller, walking your dog in the city is an art — and I’ve mastered the strut.
🚶♀️ Why Walks Are Everything
- Exercise (those calories from beef jerky sticks don’t burn themselves)
- Mental stimulation (so many smells, so little time)
- Socialization (I’ve made 3 friends and 1 sworn enemy on my route)
- Bonding time with you, duh 💛
And in a city like ours, where many of us don’t have yards, walks are non-negotiable.
🐾 Mochi’s City-Walk Checklist
🦮 A Well-Fitted Harness
Collars are cute but not ideal for walks, especially for small breeds like me. A padded harness gives better control and protects my throat.
💩 Waste Bags
If you forget these, I will 100% poop in front of a coffee shop patio. Be ready.
💧 Water Bottle
Especially in the summer. I love a portable doggie bottle with a built-in bowl.
🌟 Reflective Gear for Night Walks
Just because I’m small doesn’t mean I want to be invisible.
🧻 Paw Wipes or Booties
Sidewalks are wild. I don’t know what that puddle was, and I don’t want to talk about it.
🗺️ Tips for Navigating the Concrete Jungle
- Avoid hot pavement — if it burns your hand, it burns my paws.
- Steer clear of food scraps — that “street taco” was not safe for dogs.
- Watch for broken glass — especially around bus stops and curbs.
- Let me sniff! It’s how I read the city’s news. #ScentScroll
🐶 Final Woof
City walks are more than potty breaks — they’re my time to explore, stretch, and shine. So leash up, stay alert, and let’s hit these streets like the dogfluencers we are 🐾✨
With sidewalk sass,
