Hi fren 🐶💧 Mochi here — your favorite fluffy hydration coach. Let’s talk about something way more important than that squeaky donut toy under the couch: WATER.
Staying hydrated isn’t just for humans with $7 smoothies. Us pups need consistent, clean water access to stay healthy, energized, and ready to chase pigeons in the park.
💦 Why Hydration Matters
- Supports organ health (like kidneys, heart & digestion)
- Regulates body temp, especially during hot walks
- Helps avoid UTIs & bladder issues
- Keeps my nose boop-ready and my coat silky, thank u very much
🐾 Mochi’s Hydration Tips (From One City Pup to Another)
🥣 1. Keep My Bowl Fresh (Would you drink 2-day-old sidewalk soup?)
- Rinse and refill my water bowl at least twice a day.
- Bonus points if it’s ceramic or stainless steel — plastic bowls? I’m not that girl.
🌡️ 2. Watch Me in the Summer
City heat hits different. Pavement, buses, and AC units turn the block into a furnace. If I’m panting more than usual? Refill. Add ice cubes. Heck, throw in a dog-safe frozen blueberry.
💧 3. I Like Options, OK?
Multiple bowls throughout the apartment? A hydrating fountain? A doggy water bottle for our walks? Hydration station, please.
🚰 4. Skip the Tap if It’s Sketchy
If the tap water in your area isn’t great for you, it isn’t great for me. Filtered water is bougie, but I’m worth it.
⚠️ Signs Your Pup Might Be Dehydrated:
- Dry gums or nose
- Lethargy
- Loss of appetite
- Sunken eyes
- Thick, sticky saliva
If I show any of those signs, call your vet! Even the sassiest pup needs help sometimes.
🐶 Final Sip
Hydration is not optional. So please don’t make me resort to licking condensation off your iced coffee again, k?
With love and tongue licks,
Mochi 🐾
